La Tour date du 12e siècle. Sa façade Ouest conserve son aspect originel avec ses archères qui indiquent un escalier intérieur.

On ignore où se trouvait la porte d’entrée. Ses fondations se situent probablement à plusieurs mètres au-dessous du niveau actuel du sol.

Au 15e siècle, les Villeneuve l’ont annexé à leur château malgré les protestations de la Commune.
