Initialement baptisée place Mirabeau, elle deviendra par la suite la place Georges Clemenceau.

De l’ancien Évêché il ne subsiste que la partie la plus ancienne, le bâtiment sur arcades qui ferme la place Nord, et la tour Saint Lambert.
